Gluten Free Aloo Paratha


Here is the recipe for the all-time favorite Indian breakfast- Aloo Paratha, and that too for a Gluten-Free Aloo Paratha.

Though dealing with Gluten-Free flour won’t be as easy as making the actual Aloo Paratha. Why? Because kneading Gluten-Free flour is a little tough. So be patient, and follow the steps to make Gluten-Free flour dough. 

Total preparation time is almost 10 minutes and the parathas would be cooked in 4-5 minutes. So, in almost 15 minutes hot and delicious home-made Gluten Free Aloo Paratha would be ready. 

How to prepare 1 Cup Gluten-Free dough at home

  1. Take ½  a cup of Potato Starch 
  2. Take ¼ cup of Tapioca Starch 
  3. 1½ cup of Brown Rice Flour 
  4. ¼ cup of White Rice Flour 
  5. Add a pinch of salt 
  6. Add water for kneading.  

To make the fillings for the parathas follow these steps-

  1. Take ½ a cup of finely chopped onions 
  2. 2 or 3 finely chopped green chilies as per the taste
  3. Add ½ tsp of Ajwain seeds
  4. Add ½ tsp of dry mango powder
  5. Add ½ tsp of lemon juice 
  6. Add ½ tsp Nigella seeds (optional)  
  7. 2-3 boiled and mashed potatoes  

To cook put 2 tbsp of olive oil/ghee on pan 

Follow step by step procedure given below: 

  1. Mix the ingredients chopped for the fillings with the boiled potatoes, very well.
  2. Make 2-3 small balls with the Gluten-Free dough.
  3. Make a well in the middle of each ball with your thumb or with the help of tsp.
  4. Fill the stuffing and close the well, and make a firm ball once again. 
  5. With the rolling pin start to roll the paratha. Avoid putting a lot of pressure as this would break the paratha. 
  6. Start to cook the paratha once rolling is done nicely. 
  7. Put the paratha on a hot pan and let it cook for at least a minute from both the side. 
  8. Put olive oil/ghee and keep flipping the paratha until the paratha gets golden brown from both the sides.  Paratha is ready to eat. 

Serve it hot with white butter, yogurt, mint chutney or however you wish to have them.
